Testimonios
We learn and grow from being in community.
I have grown tremendously and I am grateful for the time to chew on these ideas. Disrupting my own biases is a long journey, but I see now that I don't need to be an expert to engage in this work with others.
Principal
I find these workshops POWERFUL! They allow me to center my practice around issues that are actually essential for the proper functioning of society, therefore giving me a higher sense of purpose.
Student Support Provider
I have been with LAUSD for 12 years, and I was seriously considering walking away from this profession for a lot of reasons, but the main reason was that I honestly felt like the district had no interest in doing the work to build just and equitable conditions for teachers and students. My whole career IÂ have felt like the "trouble maker" (several administrators have called me this in the past) for problematizing structures, policies and so forth. Being in community with you both and other educators has helped revitalize my passion. I am truly grateful for this platform.
Classroom Teacher
I'm so appreciative of you and your groundbreaking work. There is no way I could have approached any of this in a meaningful way without you. And to have the district supporting it is beyond fantastic. Reading books, however great, just isn't enough for me to feel confident enough to do this work.
Classroom Teacher
IÂ see so much of the deep structures at my school. I want it to stop and to change for the benefit of our students and our society. I just have to be intentional every minute and every time, especially when IÂ talk with teachers and attempt to joyfully disrupt the deep structures at my school.
